Microfinance Program
It was started in 1988 by voluntary services of some local young men and women. It was formally registered in 1988 with the Directorate of Social Service and later in 1993 with NGO Affairs Bureau to receive foreign donations. It was initiated with the inspiration and leadership of Ms. Kamrun Nahar who is the Chief Executive of the organization and academically is a Master Degree holder in Psychology.
PMK is a non-profit national NGO. It is registered under the following agencies: MRA-00862-00387-00312.Social Service Department, the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Registration No. 02218, dated November 27, 1988 and Foreign Donations (Voluntary Activities) Regulation Ordinance 1978 with NGO Affairs Bureau, Registration No. 709, dated May 27, 1993, Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms, Registration No. S-7017(205)/07, dated September 03, 2007.
In order to create more employment opportunities PMK has initiated support to small entrepreneurs, so that they can expand their business and increase employments opportunities in their enterprises.
PMK MF program is being operated on a medium scale, as an independent program. Presently PMK operating branches in 34 districts.
